Motivational Tips to keep you inspired...

  • Read something inspiring!
It could be a biography, quote, poem, or song. Use other peoples experiences to give you that lift.
  • Start a walking group!
It's more social and you all get to feed off the motivation of each other.
  • Think of exercise as a menu rather than a diet!
Make a list of activities and choose 1 each day.
  • Use a training journal!
By keeping track of your activities you can see the improvements in your fitness     week to week.
  • Start an interest or hobby that requires physical fitness!
It could be bushwalking, rock-climbing, tennis, golf, or scuba-diving. If you require physical fitness to enjoy the activity you will be more inclined to train for it.
  • Increase your incidental activity!
This is the amount of activity you do in your normal course of your day, the activity not generally classed as exercise. You could: walk to work, take the stairs instead of the elevator, never use the remote to the TV, or play with the kids for 15 minutes per day.
  • Try cross-training!
If your exercise program is always the same then break it up with one session per week of swimming, bike riding, jogging, sprints, or circuits. You could even play a different sport and use it as a training session.
  • Use a Personal Trainer!
Personal trainers can provide motivation as well as training variety.
  • Use an exercise video!
If exercising in public places is not for you, then try training at home. There are many forms of training available on video now including: boxing, aerobics, pilates, and yoga.
  • Just start!
You will always be able to find excuses not to train so don't think about it, just walk out the door.
  • Listen to music!
Put on the stereo or use a walk-man. Music certainly helps the

Thusday - November 16th, 2006!

Well let's see I think this was a really tough week, mentally and physically for me. I really struggled to eat properly as well as try to get some type of excersize in. I'm very emotional and beat myself up alot. That is until the other day. I was talking to a co-worker about walking to work, as I do now both ways, and he was looking up how many miles/kilometers it would be to walk to work. So I asked him to check how much it is for me to walk to work. The answer is 3.25 MILES... that's one way! So I walk to work and back home again every day, that's 6 and a HALF MILES everyday.... that's insane. That's just slightly over 10 KILOMETERS daily!! Here I am upset because I'm tired and sore and feel lazy and more hungry and I'm getting in a good amount of walking a day.

So to answer the question in this song, what have i done today to make me feel proud? I walked to work. I got on that scale even though I felt like I didn't even want to see the numbers and felt bloated and like I gained weight.

I saw 1.5 pound difference since last time.... and it's not gained weight either!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Sorry for the lack of inspiration, I'll try to fix that with help from AMANDA! Who rocks by the way.

Well folks how is everyone doing this week?

I missed last week's weigh-in but I did not forget to actually weigh in and i'll do that after this new blog.

I hope everyone is doing great on their continuing efforts to being more healthy!! Please feel free to comment and let me know what you would like to see on this webpage, or what we could improve on? Got some great healthy recipes, submit them and have them posted to share with others like you!

Have a good week, see you all next Thursday and good luck at the weigh-in!!!
October 26

I'm feeling pretty good

Now that I'm finally getting over this cold I can start working on me again!!

So today is weigh in and I checked in this morning weighing 196.5!! That's at least 2 more pounds of excuses GONE from my excuse book!

Since I've started I'm not able to wear one pair of pants because they are too big now, both in the waist and legs so getting a belt is useless. I need some new clothes and oooooo how i love shopping. I just find it's hard because there are no cool big girl clothes. They look gross and old. So this will be nice to see what i can fit into.

I can't believe Ken from the Biggest Loser. WOW. That about sums it up. He had ARMS and a thin FACE it was just amazing. Good for him!

Well people how about you? How are you doing? Need support because we are here for you!

If I can do it so can you. Good luck, and until next time, think thin!
October 19

Today is the day we check in.

Well folks are have ya'll been this last week? I've been under the weather myself but still surviving. Plus side to being sick, i'm not hungry. Bad side, I'm not getting the vits and mins i really need. I could take my pills but then i can't handle anything going in currently.

So tell me, how are you doing really? Do you like the video I've included. It was hard to find but I did it. I've always had the song stuck in my head and it seems to fire me up when i hear it. Since it makes me get all excited to excersize and lose weight I thought maybe you'd want to hear it too. When you feel down or like you don't want to do it or want to give up TURN your speakers up, closer your eyes and relax then enjoy! You'll sure remember those people from the Biggest Loser, sweating, crying and struggling just to get where they are today. I'm proud of them, and I'm proud of you for trying and just coming here to support people or to get support.

I might be the only one blogging or commenting, other than a couple other (thanks guys) but the stats are showing some interest in this site. Please keep this going and keep up the good work!

YOU CAN DO IT. What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Take care,

Lee
